Palm Beach is a designated turtle nesting site for the Green and Hawksbill turtles and is rated as one of the premier nesting sites in Barbados.

Palm Beach has also received published commendations for its active turtle management program and its participation in light control and beach maintenance activities to create an attractive and safe environment for nesting turtles and hatchlings.

As turtles are attracted by light it is imperative that residents keep their lighting in the unit and particularly on the patios to a minimum as mandated by the Turtle Management Programme which applies to Palm Beach.

Residents should not impede or interfere with the hatchlings as they progress down the beach to the sea as this is a very important part of their journey.

If there is a concern about the hatchlings please call the Sea Turtle Hotline (24 hours) 230-0142
